Sixteen (16) days traveling through Peruvians most indigenous and endearing regions allows you to know Peru in one single trip. It mixes the ancient culture, tradition & modern culture of the country. You will start the tour at the mystical city of Cusco, then you cross the Andes towards the highest navigatable lake of the world. Duration: 16 days, starting at Cusco airport and ending at Lima airport.

Itinerary:

Day 1.- Cusco.- Arrival in Cusco at a time before noon. Transfer to your hotel. Full briefing about Cusco and complete review of your tour itinerary . This day there is no formal planned activity. Please walk slowly to get used to the altitude.

Day 2.- Sacred valley tour.- This tour starts at 8:30 a.m. We pick you up from your hotel and we head towards a green fertile valley where you will be rewarded by stunning mounting scenery. You will also visit the local markets at Pisaq and Ollantaytambo which are both excellent places to buy gifts for relatives and friends. You also will visit the ancient Pisaq Inca site, situated on the far site of the mountain and learn the local history from our bilingual tour guide. For lunch we will stop at Urubamba and enjoy the local cuisine. The tour ends at Ollantaytambo, considered the main living Inca town and here you will have accommodation at a top class hotel.

Day.- 3, 4, 5 & 6 Inca Trail.- Early in the mourning (6:30) and after your breakfast we head towards km. 82 (Pisqhqka’chu), about one hour by bus, the starting point for the trek. The local porters and the Guides will organize every thing for you. They will take all gear into big bags. You should carry your hand bags with some snacks, water, camera, etc and enjoy the splendid  mountain scenery as well as the fascinating Incan monuments along the route. The first and second day we will walk for about 8 hours, including breaks, the third day 5 hours and the last day just 2 hours; from all of them the first day is the hardest (see Inca trail program ). The last day we will start hiking very early, escorted by our experienced Guide, in order to arrive in time for sunrise at Machupicchu and its surrounding green mountains. Later in the afternoon you will take the train along the Urubamba valley back to Cusco. You will arrive there in the evening and transfer to your hotel. During the trek all the meals are included. We also offer a vegetarian menu option.

Day 7.- Cusco to Puno.- Fantastic journey through the Peruvian south lands, crossing the high altiplano. You will visit interesting places and stop along volcanic hot springs. We arrive in the afternoon at Puno, a small city located at the banks of the highest navigatable lake of the world.

Day 8, 9.- Tour to Titicaca Lake & Bus to Arequipa.-  Early in the mourning we pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to the lake port and take a motor boat; 45 minutes later we will arrive to the fascinating floating islands of Uros. Here you can visit the traditional markets and visit the local families. After that we continue by motor boat towards Takile island, walk across the island watching the typical agriculture on Incan terraces. On this island the people live conserving the ancient tradition. You have a chance to enjoy the local cuisine and then we continue towards the Amantany island where you will have the opportunity to stay with a family in a basic accommodation and chat with them and learn about they culture and society. You can contribute as well by shopping at the communal market and hereby promote sustainable tourism by supporting directly. The following day we will have an optional walk across the island in order to see the sunrise over the lake and visit some other families. In the afternoon we will return to Puno. In the evening we will take the night royal class bus for 6 hours to Arequipa and enjoy accommodation in a comfortable hotel.

Day 10, 11.- Colca canyon tour.- We pick you up from the hotel at around 9 am and take you for a life time tour to the Colca Canyon. First we arrive to Chivay, the entrance of the canyon. Along the route you will appreciate the magnificent views complemented by the flora and fauna home to the region, such as llamas, alpacas, wild vicuñas and guanacos as well as a great variety of birds. At Chivay there is a magnificent  natural hot spring, considered the best in Peru. In the evening we will take you there to relax and be ready for the following day. The next day, early in the morning,  we pick you up from the hotel and we continue the tour towards LA CRUZ DEL CONDOR,    considered the best place to appreciate the word’s  deepest canyon and view the majestic condors over flying the canyon. After that we will return and stop at traditional markets and visit some small towns. Back in Chivay we have a chance to enjoy the local cuisine, highly recommended is the grilled alpaca. Then we go back to Arequipa, arriving there in the afternoon.

Day 12.- Arequipa Nazca.-  This day you will have a free morning and you can wonder around the lovely city of Arequpipa or rest. We recommend that you visit the Santa Catalina museum which contains the last Inca mummy found on top of the local Andes mountain (named Juanita), placed together with another 18 mummies. In the evening we will take the royal class bus to Nazca (Nazcas were pre-Incan civilization with very advanced technology and they habited the desert coastal part of Peru) arriving there in the morning. Accommodation in a comfortable hotel.

Day 13.- Over fly Nazca lines.- Nazca is located in the heart of the coastal desert. Here we over fly the mysterious Nazca lines. Afterwards we will continue the tour to Chauchilla: a Nazcas cemetery were there are over 1,500 years old mummies that revels Nazcas. Afterwards, we will visit the local artisans in the city who still maintain the ancient traditions and the original technology. Accommodation in a comfortable hotel.

Day 14 - Paracas, Islas Ballestas.- Early in the morning you continue the tour and visit the port of Chaco for an exceptional tour of ocean wildlife. You will visit several islands crossing fantastic sceneries together with a naturalist as a Guide. Optional tour available to Huaca-China, for enjoying the local sport of sand boarding.

Day 15 Lima.- In the morning we catch the bus to Lima and travel along the coastal desert. Accommodation in a comfortable hotel.

Day 16.- After your breakfast we will transfer you back to the airport.

What's Included?
The following items are included for this tour:

Transportation.- Bus transportation according to the program and train to Machupicchu.
Entrance fees.- For all the tourist places visited.
Meals.- No meals included, except all breakfasts in the hotels and the delicious meals on the Inca trail prepared by our professional chef.
Guide & porters.- Licensed bilingual official Tour Guide; 2 guides over 8 people. Porters will carry both your personal items (7kls) in duffel bags (provided by Sunrise) and the camping equipment  for the Inca trail. You must carry your day-to-day packings such as your camera, snacks and some drinkable water. We always distribute 1.5 porters for every tourist.
Camping equipment.- We provide a four people capacity tent for two persons, in addition we provide brand new four season tents, roll mattresses, a dining room tent, a kitchen tent, a toilet tent, seats, tables, a tent for the guides, a porters tent, kitchen gears, bag packs for the porters, warm clothes for the porters and life insurance for the porters. We take the extra step in providing care for all during the trip, including those who serve you with professional assistance during the trek.
Accomodation.- 9 nights hotel, 1 night with a local family and 3 nights in camping tents.
Others.- Local Guide available for permanent assistance, first aid kit, oxygen bottle.

What's excluded?

Meals.- All Lunch and dinners except for on the Inca trail. You should consider a budget from  US$15.00 to US$25.00  for each meal in an average restaurant. We will assist you with all local matters. 
Sleeping bag.-  You can rent it from us for US$10.00 for the entire trek. Thermal-a-rest  US$10.00 for the entire trek. 
Airport Taxes and tips are not included.

Recommended things to take.
You can buy some clothes in the local markets; that being said, please pack few changes of clothes in your suitcase or your back pack. In addition, please bring a sleeping bag (you can rent this at the SUNRISE office if required), mineral water (one liter), rain gear or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Cusco) and hiking shoes (runners shoes are not recommended). Please also bring extra shoes, sandals, a warm jacket or fleece and wind coat, t-shirts, shorts and long pants, a sun hat and wool hat, a flashlight and extra batteries, sun block and insect repellent, toilet paper and garbage bag, a small towel and a bathing suit (hot springs), camera, extra film and/or extra batteries for your camera, snacks such as chocolates, energy bars, and walking stick (optional).

It is for me?
This is a great way to experience the best parts of Peru coming across the full panorama: the coastal desert, the Andes, the altiplano and some of the deepest canyons. The Inca trail is 45 km and a moderate 4 days hike. Everyone in this tour takes on his/her own speed and the highest point we go on this trek is 4200 meters. From there you will be rewarded by a beautiful mountain scenery (see the reports). If you do not prefer to trek, we have alternative programs by train to Machupicchu with an extra night in Aguas Calientes; for this option please kindly let us know in advance.

Price & Discount.
US$ 1300.00 per person

Discount.
You qualify to get a discount of US$ 20 of the entrance fees to Machupicchu if you are a student, under 26 years old and if you have valid ISIC student card; It must be presented to INRENA & INC park control to obtain the permit. Your card needs scanning and therefore, kindly send us this card at booking time. You have to remember to carry your ISIC card and original passport with you. The International Youth Travel Card, ISTC card or other type of card is not accepted. We also offer US$ 5 .00 discount to groups of 3 people and US$10.00 to groups of  5 or more people.

Available departure dates:
We leave every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all year round. During February we operate alternative routes because the Inca Trail is closed for cleaning up the trail and fix the camp sites if necessary.  We never offer you a waiting list, if you are too late to book your tour and you can’t extend your time, we can offer you alternative tours like: Lares trek 4D/3N including Machupicchu tour or Salkantay trek 5D/4N including Machupicchu tour (see our program for it).

When to make a booking.
We recommend you to book 30 days in advance; if you are thinking to come in between June and September we advice you to book at least 8 weeks in advance. Only 500 people are allowed to enter the Inca Trail each day, and this includes guides and porters, which leaves  approximately 200 tourists. Thus, hikers essentially require permits obtained in advance by a licensed local tour operator to reserve space on the trail. When you book the very last minute, you will likely not get space and not a good campsite.

Payment details. 
We will require a non-refundable trek deposit of US$ 100.00 per person. The deposit can be issued through a WESTERN UNION money transfer. This is the fastest and most secure form of payment in Peru. Please kindly state SUNRISE EXPEDITIONS TOUR OPERATOR E.I.R.L as the recipient. Once you arrive to Cusco you can pay the balance in cash by either US dollars or in local currency (Peruvian Soles).
