Inca trail to Machu picchu 4D/3N!

The Inca Trail is considered the most beautiful trek in South America. It runs through the Peruvian mountains with beautiful scenery and lush cloud forests rich in diverse ecology. Here animals live in vast quantities and there are over 350 types of orchids. Visiting this trail, you will learn about the Incan Civilization and visit mysterious Incan temples built along the route. We will finish this tour exploring the ruins of MachuPicchu.

Itinerary!

inca trail to machu picchuDay 1 - Cusco–Km 82 – Llulluchapampa

Early pick up at your hotel and we’ll transport you in our private bus to km 82(the starting point of the trek). Today we hike for 8 hours (covering 15 km) enjoying beautiful scenery and views of the mountains along this amazing Inca Trail. We will start in The Sacred Valley and hike to the Cusichaka Valley, eventually arriving in Huallabamba where lunch will be served. After that, we will continue through the Huayruru Valley until we arrive in Llullucha Campsite (3800m). From there we will be able to admire the stunning mountain views. This tour includes the history of the area and a visit to Llactapata and other small traditional communities on the way.

Day 2 - Llulluchapampa – Chaquiccocha.

Machu Picchu inca trailAfter breakfast, we continue walking towards the challenging point of Dead Women’s Pass (Warmiwañusca 4200m), the highest point of the trek. Then the trail descends to the beautiful Pacaymayo valley (3800m) where we will have lunch. After a rest we will ascend to the second pass (4000m). We will walk on the original lovely Inca paved steps; at the top there is a splendid view of the Vilcanota Mountain Range. Later we will descend to Chaq’iqhocha Campsite (3600m). This will be a 15km hike that will take about 8 hours. On the route we will visit amazing Incan temples like Runkuraqhay and Sayacmarka.

 

Day 3 - Chaquiccocha – Wiñayhuayna..

An excellent day to trek through the cloud forest on the original Incan paved stone way. We’ll visit Phuyupatamarka ruins and observe many flowers and a variety of birds,especially Hummingbirds. Also, we’ll have a splendid view of the snowcapped mountains of the Pumasillu Mountain Range. Lunch will be served at the campsite, After this we will visit Wiñayhuayna Archeological Site which is considered the most beautiful temple on The Inca Trail. We will have the afternoon free to enjoy this magical place among the mountains.  This will be a 10km hike that will take about 5 hours.

 

Day 4 - Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu – Cusco.

Today we start early and walk for 2 hours to the sun gate (Intipunku) from where we’ll see spectacular views of Machupicchu opening up to us through the clouds. Then, we continue to Machupicchu to watch the sunrise. We will begin our tour early before other tours arrive. After the tour we will have free time to explore this archeological site. Later in the afternoon we’ll take the train back to Cusco.

  • Train.- Train tickets round trip (Cusco to Km. 104 starting point of the trek and Aguas Calientes to Cusco).
  • Bus.- Bus tickets up and down from Aguas Calientes to Machupicchu.
  • Hotel.- 1 night basic hotel accommodation in Aguas Calientes.
  • Entrance fees.- To Inca Trail and Machupicchu.
  • Meals.- 1 Box lunch and 1 breakfast and 1 dinner.
  • Guide.- Professional English speaking guide (2 guides for groups over eight 8 people).
  • Others.- First aid kit and emergency oxygen bottle.

What is not included?

  • Breakfast on the first day Some hotels offer early morning breakfast. If not, you can have on the train, and lunch on the last day.
  • Entrance to the thermal baths in Aguas Calientes (optional) US$ 3.00.

Recomended Things To Take

  • Bottle of mineral water.
  • Original passport and International Student card (ISIC) (if applicable)
  • Travel Insurance is essential
  • Toilet paper and garbage bag.
  • Sunglasses, sun block and insect repellent.
  • Sweater and jacket - Small towel and bathing suit (for hot springs), sun hat.
  • Snacks (candies, chocolate, energy bars, etc).
  • Comfortable hiking shoes and sandals - Camera.
  • Walking stick (optional).
  • Personal things.
  • Some extra money (there are ATMs in Aguas Calientes).
  • You only need to carry a small day pack with your personal items because this trek is just for 1 entire day
  •  Rain gear and/or plastic poncho.

Payment Details:

We require a non-refundable trek deposit of US$100 per person. The deposit can be sent by a WESTERN UNION or to our BANK ACCOUNT money transfer. This is the fastest and most secure form of payment in Peru. The money transfer should be in the name of SUNRISE EXPEDITIONS TOUR OPERATOR E.I.R.L. Once you arrive in Cusco you must pay the remaining balance in cash prior to beginning your tour. We accept both US Dollars and Peruvian Soles (local currency).

When To Make A Trek Booking:

The government has strictly limited the number of people permitted on the Inca Trail (permits are issued to about 200 trekkers per day plus 300 porters this 500 permits include 4 days inca trail). We recommend that you make a trek booking as early as posible we recommend 4 months in advance.

It's recommended to book the tour "inka trail" in advance, before booking flight tickets and hotels, because there are limited spots to reservation for Inka trail at INC and PERU RAIL (train Tickets).


Important.-

The night before your trek there will be a pre-trek talk (briefing) in our office or in your hotel at either 6 or 7pm (exact time will be confirmed on arrival to Cusco).
